In 2005, the City adopted the Southwest Dixon Specific Plan, envisioning a new residential subdivision with some commercial and employment uses on 477 acres of primarily agricultural land adjacent to I-80.
An initial phase of development is currently underway that will see construction of 1,168 new single -family homes together with a neighborhood-serving retail, a fire station and parks, open spaces and trials.
